A home is more than a place to live. It is where we should feel comfortable, safe and respected, make everyday choices, enjoy relationships and friendships, and have the freedom to live our lives in ways that matter to us.
Residential & Independent Living
Cumas currently provides two designated residential centres, Ard Álainn and Holly Lodge. Our approach starts with the individual — their choices, preferences, needs and aspirations. Support is designed to promote independence, health and wellbeing, personal development and meaningful connection with family, friends and community, while respecting each person’s privacy, dignity and right to make choices about their everyday life.
Cumas also provides four Independent Living Apartments at Cross Street. These offer individuals the opportunity to live independently in their own accommodation and do not provide staffing or support associated with our designated residential centres.
Looking to the Future
We know that one model of living will not suit everyone. Cumas is actively exploring plans to broaden the range of housing and support options available, responding to current needs while planning for what individuals may need and want in the future.
Our ambition is to develop a more flexible range of options that can respond to different lives, different levels of support and changing needs over time — working with our statutory and community partners to turn those plans into sustainable solutions.
